POPMAN 1.1 BETA NOTES:
HELP FILE:
----------
Make sure to use the new "PopMan.HLP" help file, which has been
updated to include all new features & changes to the program. This
help file replaces the beta tester information from previous beta
packages (i.e. the help file is the only location for information
regarding changes since the last beta release). The new help file
is dated June 2, 1995.
*******************************************************************
NOTE: Please see the file "ICONTEST.TXT" for information regarding
an icon-drawing contest in which the winner receives a free PopMan
registration!

Basic Information & Legal Considerations:
-----------------------------------------
This archive is a "beta" that may be distributed to the general public
for testing & evaluation purposes. This beta has an expiry
date, which can be displayed by choosing "Help -- About..." from the popup menu.
Information such as licensing agreement, disclaimer, etc. applies as outlined
in the accompanying documentation including the help file. All new information
is supplied in this file ("BETA.TXT"), and all efforts have been made to ensure
that it is complete and accurate. If you find any discrepancies, mistakes, or
omissions in this documentation, or in the execution of the program itself, you
are encouraged to inform the author of same (that is, after all, what beta
testing is about). See the bottom of this file for notes on how to contact the
author.
How to install PopMan 1.1 Beta:
-------------------------------
1) Unzip the files "PopMan.exe" and "PopMan.hlp" into a
subdirectory of your choice (you don't need to unzip
the help file, "PopMan.hlp" if you don't want to, or if you
already have it from version 1.0, but you may find it useful.
You can remove it at any time).
2) Execute the file "PopMan.exe" in normal Windows fashion.
A dialog asking you to select a launch method from the setup screen
will appear, followed by the setup dialog. Once you select a
"launch method" and save your choice, in the future when PopMan runs,
nothing will appear on your screen (except if you choose the "icon"
launch method) until you "trigger" its menu by employing your chosen
launch method.
4) To configure PopMan & its menus the way you want it, choose
"Configure...PopMan Setup" (for general options) and
"Configure...PopMan Menus..." (to add/change items to the popup
menus) from the PopMan menu. You may, of course, repeat this
step as often as you like, whenever you like!
5) Put PopMan in your "Startup" group if you want to have it run
every time you launch Windows. This is the suggested way to use
PopMan, since it guarantees that it will be available at a mouse
(or hotkey) click.
HOW THE NEW FEATURES WORK:
--------------------------
See the new help file, "PopMan.hlp", dated June 2/95, for all
information regarding how the program works. This help file is
intended to include (& therefore replace) all previously updated
information to beta testers on how the program works.
